Welcome from the Secretary-General

Model UN for the 21st century.

It is my distinct honor and privilege to welcome you to the thirteenth iteration of American University’s Model United Nations Conference. Since its inception, the goal of AmeriMUNC has been to foster an atmosphere that allows delegates to deeply engage in the most pressing global issues, develop an understanding of the complex reality that is diplomacy, and encourage delegates to create pragmatic, yet innovative, solutions with others through interactive, ever-changing committee simulations. AmeriMUNC is the only conference in the United States to have all of our committees exist in one regional interconnected simulation, with this iteration centered around Europe.

Composed of a dedicated group of 300+ students hailing from many academic backgrounds, AmeriMUNC’s staff operates with a unified goal of providing memorable experiences and engaging in a simulation we have all come to love. AmeriMUNC is proud to build on its legacy as one of the most innovative conferences in the high school circuit, and we are beyond excited to once again bring you this experience in person.

AmeriMUNC’s Secretariat, along with our passionate staff, looks forward to welcoming you to our home in Washington, DC.

ABOUT AMERIMUNC

The American University Model United Nations Conference (AmeriMUNC) is a three-day dynamic educational simulation that hosts hundreds of high school students annually. Hosted by students at American University in Washington DC, the conference aims to provide an educational setting where delegates can dive into the inner workings of international affairs through innovative committees in a more engaging way than any other conference!

Experience in Model UN is not required. Staff can either focus on moderating debate (Chairs), running the simulation and performing skits (Crisis Staff) or running the conference behind the scenes (Operations). Those interested in staffing AmeriMUNC are required to attend several training sessions to be equipped with the skill set needed to run this conference. Moreover, if you wish to staff either within the crisis or dais side of the conference, compiling writing materials for the delegates will be part of the conference. Outside of Model UN and training, AmeriMUNC provides ample opportunities for socializing and networking. The team hosts events from trivia to color run, in addition to visiting D.C. institutions like the U.S. Institute of Peace. AU Students staffing AmeriMUNC will leave with skills such as leadership, research, interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, event planning, education, and much more! If you have any questions or concerns, you can always reach out to info@amerimunc.com

Interested in joining?

Thank you for your interest in joining the conference staff for AmeriMUNC XIII! Our staff join us from various academic disciplines and unique personal backgrounds, united by their passion for sharing deep knowledge of the simulation’s real world-impacts with students.
