AUMUN Makes a Splash at BarMUN

From October 7-10, eight delegates representing the American University Model United Nations Team (AUMUN) attended the Boston Area Model United Nations Conference (BarMUN), the first fully in-person conference on the collegiate Model UN circuit since February 2020.

This conference featured committees ranging from UN General Assemblies, like the Economic and Financial Committee, to smaller committees, such as the Jumia Board of Directors and the UN Security Council. AUMUN's competing delegates achieved huge successes, earning the most first-place individual awards so far this season.

Congratulations to the following individual awardees:

Best Delegate in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) - Gabby MacKay
Best Delegate in the United Nations Economic and Financial Committee of the General Assembly (ECOFIN) - Renan Rocha
Best Delegate in the Ad Hoc Committee of the Secretary-General - Jack Tapay-Cueva
Honorable Mention in the United Nations Security Council - Zamaan Qureshi

Looking ahead, the team is excited to continue our winning streak for more in-person conferences in the coming weeks!
