A Successful March for AUMUN

From March 3-6, 2022, four members of the AU Model United Nations Team started their spring break by traveling to compete at the University of California, Berkeley Model United Nations Conference (UCBMUN) in San Francisco, California. AU delegates effectively debated current issues such as technological expansion, economic inequality, and entertainment, earning AUMUN Outstanding Delegation at the end of the weekend.

On the same weekend, eight AUMUN delegates competed at the New York University Model United Nations Conference (NYUMUNC), hosted virtually by New York University. As a crisis conference, it was a unique opportunity for many of our delegates to compete in engaging historical committees with unique focuses, such as managing the Incan, Aztec, and Mayan empires, and combating espionage in WWII. Our delegation was hugely successful, resulting in first-time top-two awards for some of our first-year members.

Finally, from March 24-27 2022, AUMUN sent a small team of four to Charlottesville for the Virginia International Crisis Simulation (VICS) hosted by the University of Virginia. There, our delegates competed in cutting-edge committees that engaged with popular media and current events worldwide. After three days of dedicated competition, every single member of our team walked away with an individual award--a first in team history. In light of their success, our delegation walked away with Best Small delegation.
