AUMUN Wins Best Small Delegation at NAMUN
This weekend six delegates from the American University Model United Nations Team (AUMUN) attended the North American Model United Nations Conference (NAMUN), hosted virtually by the University of Toronto. NAMUN featured a unique interconnected crisis simulation on Warlord China in 1925 and the International Court of Justice. In addition, our delegates also competed in some traditional Model UN Committees that addressed issues like Catalonian independence and plastic pollution.
The AUMUN delegation worked tirelessly to promote diplomacy and collaboration during 19 hours of debate that were spread out over three days. When NAMUN came to a close, the excellence with which the AUMUN delegation and its individual delegates participated in the conference proceedings was recognized with an incredible 6 awards! Not only did AUMUN win Best Small Delegation, but five of the delegation’s six delegates won individual awards, earning the most gavels at a single conference from our team this year!
Congratulations to the following awardees:
Best Delegate in the United Nations Environment Programme - Eli Duncan-Gilmour
Best Delegate in Spanish Central Government - Jordan Baker
Best Delegate in The Warlord Coalition: Beiyang Government and Independent Warlords - Jack Tapay-Cueva
Best Delegate in The Assembly of Foreign Powers: The Legation Cities - Whit Ford
Outstanding Delegate in The Assembly of Foreign Powers: The Legation Cities - Ellie White
As the team prepares to compete in two conferences this coming weekend, achievements at NAMUN provide a strong foundation for continued success.
