AMIRS Hosts Successful AmeriMUNC IX

From January 28th - January 30th, the American University International Relations Society (AMIRS) hosted its ninth American University Model United Nations Conference (AmeriMUNC). This year's regional focus was Western Asia. High school student delegates sat on a range of committees from dealing with the political crisis in Lebanon to the rebuilding of Afghanistan, and from mitigating turmoil in Kazakhstan to coordinating NGO projects in Yemen. Staffed by over 200 American University students, AmeriMUNC IX hosted over five hundred delegates from across the world.

Even in having to move our staffing experience to a virtual medium within a month of the conference, AmeriMUNC IX was still given the best feedback in our conference's history, with the most common feedback being that we continue to provide an experience for delegates that no other university can provide. As we immediately jump into planning for next year’s AmeriMUNC X, we are excited to continue working towards our goal: making AmeriMUNC the premier high school MUN conference in the country. After this weekend, we are well on our way.
