AUMUN Triumphs at HNMUN

Building off their recent success at the McGill University Model United Nations Assembly (McMUN) this January, the AU Model United Nations Team competed in Boston, Massachusetts at the Harvard National Model United Nations Conference (HNMUN) from February 10-13. HNMUN is the largest and most prestigious conference on the collegiate Model UN circuit, where delegates from over 40 countries gather together to debate pressing issues like population dynamics, territorial sovereignty in post-Soviet states, and digitization in Africa.

AUMUN excelled at this important conference, displaying team members’ command of public speaking, quick problem solving, and collaboration. AUMUN's reputation for success proved warranted, as over half of its small delegation won an individual award. The AUMUN team plans to attend several additional conferences in the weeks to come and is excited to continue this winning streak.

Congratulations to the following individual awardees:
Best Delegate in the UN Commission on Population and Development - Lizzie Williamson
Outstanding Delegate in the World Conference on Women - Lauren Giddings
Honorable Mention in the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) - Caroline Xin
Honorable Mention in the Special Political and Decolonization Committee - Ellie White and Renan Rocha
