AUMUN Wins Big Again at UPMUNC and CIAC

From November 12-15, 16 members of the AU Model United Nations Team traveled to Philadelphia to compete at the University of Pennsylvania Model United Nations Conference (UPMUNC). The conference featured a range of committees addressing serious international issues, such as Human Rights Abuses by Insurgent Groups, Female Migrant Protection, and the International Drug Trade. The AUMUN team was hugely successful, with an unprecedented number of awards earned by first- and second-year members.

While part of the AUMUN team was competing in Philadelphia, seven other members stayed on-campus to compete at the virtual Cornell International Affairs Conference (CIAC). From planning Union advancements during the onset of the Civil War to leading border negotiations as the Sino-Soviet split unfolded, our delegates showcased their creativity, diligence, and problem-solving skills in all aspects of their performances. In addition to several individual awardees, the collective success of the AUMUN Team did not go unnoticed as our delegates ended their weekends by receiving the distinction of Best Small Delegation.
